Sakr, Hariri found involved in equipping Syrian rebels

Al-Akhbar Lebanese Daily published an article whereby it claims that a voice recording depicting a conversation between MP Okab Sakr and Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri was leaked. In the conversation the two seem to be discussing specific means for arming members of the Free Syrian Army and Syrian rebels.                 

The Daily will be releasing the recordings over three parts.                 

According to first segment released, a conversation is recorded between Sakr and one of the leading figures of the Syrian rebels names “Abou Nehman”.                   
According to the paper, the script goes as follows:                

Abou Nehman: “Salam Alaykum”              

Sakr: Alaykum Salam, go ahead                

Abou Nehman: Mister Sakr, we are surrounded and it won’t be long before the entire area falls from our grip. We are undergoing heavy bombardment and are surrounded. We desperately need weapons.                    

Sakr: Please specify the type and amount of weapons that you need.               

Abou Nehman: To tell you the truth, we need 300 RPG “pieces”, 20 launchers, 250 thousand Russian rounds, and 300 rifles of various types.                

Sakr: Where should these be delivered?               

Abuo Nehman: Aazam, Tal Refaat Andan, and Aleppo Reef. You do realize our situation here. Since yesterday 3 attacks were launched against us…through Aleppo the “Shabiha” are coming for us.                   

Sakr: Who will be receiving the weapons and where should the exchange take place?                  

Abou Nehman: The batch should be divided…Abou al-Baraa will be there with some men, they will take the weapons to Aleppo…but we need the delivery to be made as soon as possible. We barely have enough weapons and we are underequipped. We only have you after God to help us.              

Sakr: Will you be at the site of the delivery?                   

Abou Nehman: No brother, I will not. Abou al-Nour with his men will be there to pick up the weapons from you as per usual.

The source, who allegedly gave these recordings to Al-Akhbar, holds a position in MP Sakr’s operation room launched specifically to support Syrian rebels. He confirms that Sakr holds a close relation with the kidnapper of the Lebanese pilgrims in Syria Abou Ibrahim. The source added that Sakr pays Abou Ibrahim a monthly wage of $50,000 with Sakr’s men delivering the sum personally.          

Al-Akhbar will be publishing tomorrow information revealing Sakr having command over military operations between Lebanon and Turkey.
