President Aoun calls for tighter security measures, increased troop deployment in Beirut, and nationwide

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun chaired a high-level security meeting, calling for stricter enforcement of government measures in Beirut and across the country, alongside an increased deployment of military and security forces.

Aoun stressed the need for tighter coordination among security agencies to ensure their efforts are integrated and serve the public interest, particularly in addressing the needs of displaced residents.

He also ordered intensified raids on locations suspected of housing weapons stockpiles, based on intelligence gathered by relevant authorities, warning against any tolerance for armed displays by any group.

The president underscored that no party would be allowed to obstruct the implementation of security measures or undermine stability, describing the preservation of civil peace at this stage in Lebanon’s history as a “red line.”

Aoun further commended the Lebanese army for its field operations, including reopening roads, repairing bridges, and facilitating the safe and stable return of displaced people to their towns and villages.
