Wounded Hezbollah member arrives injured in Rmeish, later surrenders to Israeli army

A wounded Hezbollah member arrived in the center of the town of Rmeish in southern Lebanon on Wednesday morning, where his injuries were treated with first aid by the Lebanese Red Cross, with Civil Defense personnel present. A doctor was also called to the scene.

During the treatment, Israeli forces contacted Civil Defense personnel in Rmeish and demanded the wounded man be handed over. 

Civil Defense officials in Beirut refused and contacted multiple relevant parties, including the Lebanese army, the ceasefire monitoring committee, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, seeking to transfer the injured man to the international organization, without reaching an agreement.

Israeli forces later repeated their demand, threatening to evacuate the town of Rmeish if it was not met. When Civil Defense officials again refused, an Israeli military contact reportedly asked them to speak directly with the wounded man, insisting that no one else listen to the call.

After the call ended, the wounded man walked toward a location designated by the Israeli side, accompanied by a Civil Defense vehicle. Civil Defense personnel inside the vehicle then received a warning stating: “We can see the man and we can see you. A drone is above you. There is no need to continue your route,” prompting them to stop.

The Hezbollah member continued on foot and later surrendered to Israeli forces.
