Energy Ministry responds to generator owners in Zahle and Kesrouan

The Ministry of Energy responded to the refusal of some generator owners in the city of Zahle and Kesrouan to implement its pricing guidelines, adding that this pricing system is the result of an equation agreed upon with the private generator owners and the heads of the municipalities unions.

The Ministry is taking into consideration all fixed and incidental expenses, adding a minimum profit of 15%.

The Energy Minister reiterated that the citizens agreed with the ministries of economy and interior on a mechanism to monitor the application of the pricing guidelines by receiving citizens’ complaints through the Consumer Protection Directorate’s hotline at 1739 and though the Directorate’s patrols imposing the installment of visible meters and clocks on generators under penalty of fines.
