Minister Boustani: Energy Ministry committed to 12% of renewable energy in 2020

Minister of Energy Nada Boustani reiterated on Wednesday the ministry’s commitment to reach the 12% target of renewable energy in 2020, mainly after the ministry signed three contracts to buy energy from wind farms in Akkar."

Boustani’s comments are made during the opening of the 10th Beirut International Forum for Energy and Water held under the patronage of President Michel Aoun.

“In the presence of the Minister of Finance's representative, we have opened company bids submitted by the private sector for the construction of solar power plants," she said.

"We hope to finalize the prices and issue the licenses in the Cabinet soon,” she concluded by saying.
