Representatives of Lebanese detainees denounce the release of the Alfa Employee

Representatives of the Union of Lebanese Detainees' denounced on Friday the release of the Alfa Employee Charbel Kazzi after he was imprisoned on charges of collaborating with Israel.

In this framework, Lawyer May Khansa said in a press conference that files referred to Judge Alice Chabtini are incomplete and have various legal gaps.

Khansa added that judge Chabtini is not the only person to bear the responsibility of these files seemingly since such files are being studied by a non-competent court.

"Charges of collaborating with Israel are to be studied by the judicial council," she added.

Lawyer Khansa concluded by saying that allegations against Israel from within Lebanon are prohibited.

Kazzi was arrested in July 2010 and sentenced to 7 years hard labor on December 2011.

He was charged with passing on information to Israeli spies that aided the Jewish state in its 2006 war against Hezbollah.

After the arrest of Kazzi, several other telecom sector employees were detained on charges of espionage.
