Mikati: Cooperation of all parties required to put Lebanon on recovery path
Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed on Monday that cooperation of all parties is very important to put Lebanon on the recovery path.

He also pointed out that the first step to work on is to stop the collapse of the country and to put an end to the immediate problems related to securing the electricity and resolving the drug and fuel shortage, in order to address other problems in cooperation with relevant international bodies.

Earlier in the day, Mikati received a delegation of economic bodies headed by former Minister Mohammad Choucair at the Grand Serail.

Chouccair stressed that the situation is “serious and difficult at various levels which requires concerted efforts and capabilities to get Lebanon out of the bottleneck.

“Economic authorities, based on their national responsibilities, will put their capabilities at the disposal of  PM Mikati and will cooperate with him to make this national mission successful,” Choucair mentioned.

On another note, he pointed out that the economic bodies have developed a brief paper of nine points to deal with the basic requirements for reviving the economy, stimulating the private sector, ensuring social protection and improving services and infrastructures.

He concluded that the bodies will hold successive meetings with the ministers that are concerned with economic aspect, and will inform Mikati about all the matters regarding the files that will be discussed.
