Sleiman: Current situation imposes formation of cabinet capable of facing challenges

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman said on Friday that “the accelerated pace of political and security developments in Lebanon and the region imposed on all parties to act wisely and to place the interest of the country above all matters,” stressing that need to form a new cabinet capable of assuming its responsibilities and facing all the upcoming challenges.

This as Sleiman met with former Minister Jean Obeid at the Baabda Presidential Palace and discussed with him the current political developments, then met with the President of the constitutional council Issam Sleiman and tackled with him the council’s work during the current stage.

On another note, Sleiman received the Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim and discussed the measures taken in order to control the situation on the crossing points and the latest developments concerning the case of the Lebanese hostages in Aazaz.

Also among Sleiman visitors the Head of the State Council, Judge Shukri Sader who stressed the need to settle the pending issues as soon as possible.
