Salam praises LAF intervention in Arsal, says situation in Tripoli too dangerous
Prime Minister Tammam Salam hoped Saturday that the presidential elections will be held in accordance with constitutional deadlines, noting that “realizing this achievement will open a new page in the country’s history and improve its situation.”

In a statement to “Acharq” radio station, Salam praised “the performance of President Michel Sleiman in dealing with the issues in the country.”

On another note, the PM said that the intervention of the Lebanese Armed Forces and the security forces in Arsal is “an important achievement on the ground,” hoping that the government will take decisive, crucial and balanced procedures to put an end to the violence in Tripoli.”

“The situation in Tripoli is very dangerous and recalls the outbreak of the Lebanese war in 1975,” he added.

Salam stressed that his relation with former PM Saad Hariri is firm and strong, “despite all the attempts to harm it.”
