President Aoun returns to Beirut after Vatican and Italy visit

President Joseph Aoun returned to Beirut overnight, concluding his visit to the Vatican and Italy, where he met Pope Leo XIV and discussed the situation in Lebanon.

Aoun also met Italian President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to discuss bilateral relations, developments in Lebanon and the region, and ongoing efforts to prepare for the period following the end of UNIFIL’s mission in southern Lebanon.
