Patriarch Rai urges Berri to hold daily electoral sessions

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai called Sunday of House Speaker Nabih Berri to hold daily legislative sessions in a bid to elect a president, pointing out that daily consultations will lead to the election of a new president.

“Those hindering the election of a president, whether in a direct or indirect way, as well as those supporting them, are leading the country to the abyss,” Patriarch Rai said in his holy sermon during Sunday's mass in Diman.

Rai added that further delays and procrastinations will lead to the destabilization of Lebanon’s stability and will eventually influence the entire region.
