Sfeir after meeting Hariri: Completion of 2020 Budget must be accelerated

Chairman of the Association of Banks in Lebanon Salim Sfeir congratulated on Tuesday Prime Minister Saad Hariri for passing the 2019 state’s Budget, voicing hopes to accelerate the completion of the 2020 Budget within the constitutional deadlines.

 

“We hope that next year’s Budget would include further reforms and austerity measures,” he said following his meeting with Hariri.

 

Sfeir said that he tackled with Hariri need to develop “an economic vision that attracts investments and capable of creating job opportunities.

 

“This requires alleviating the burden on the private sector to stimulate it,” he added.

 

Sfeir concluded by saying that the Lebanese Lira’s situation is good, adding that there is monetary stability in the country.
