Fatfat to LBCI: Dialogue is non-existent and the alternative lies within activating institutions

In an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said, MP Ahmad Fatfat said on Wednesday that the table of national dialogue has turned to a table of “national lies”, adding that dialogue has become void and non-existent and has yielded little results within the span of 7 years. “Hezbollah has been using dialogue to win time and the March 8 camp has committed to none of its decisions.”

Answering a question on the prospect of President Michel Sleiman presenting an alternative to the national talks, Fatfat said that the only alternative to such discussions would be the reactivation of constitutional institutions and the formation of a neutral government.

In regards to the electoral law, Fatfat said that the Future bloc refuses any suggestion pertaining to a law of proportional representation “so long as extra state arms remain in existence.”

“We are however ready to discuss a majoritarian law or in turn support the smaller districts law,” he concluded.
