LBCI sources: Third round of Lebanon-Israel talks set for next week in Washington

LBCI was informed that third round of direct talks between Lebanon and Israel is expected to take place next week at the U.S. Department of State in Washington.

The meetings are expected to be held at the U.S. Department of State over two consecutive days, either Wednesday and Thursday or Thursday and Friday.

The Lebanese delegation will include Ambassador Simon Karam, Lebanon's ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Moawad, Deputy Chief of Mission Consul Wissam Botros, as well as a representative of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

LBCI sources added Moawad has been in continuous coordination with the team of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, holding meetings on Monday and Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming round.

During those discussions, the Lebanese side submitted a file detailing alleged Israeli ceasefire violations and stressed the need to secure a sustained halt to hostilities as a prerequisite for progress in negotiations.

The upcoming round follows earlier preliminary contacts and is expected to focus on efforts to extend the ceasefire and set a framework for potential negotiations between the two sides.
