Iranian army: Ships from countries complying with US sanctions will face difficulties crossing Hormuz

Iranian army spokesperson Mohammad Akrami Nia said on Sunday that ships belonging to countries complying with U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran will face difficulties crossing the Strait of Hormuz starting immediately, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.

In a related development, Iranian lawmakers said they are drafting a bill to formalize Iran’s administration of the Strait of Hormuz, including provisions banning vessels from what they describe as “hostile countries” from passing through the strategic waterway.
