REPORT: Electricity reform alone can reduce deficit by 4%, out of the 5% requested by Cedre

Lebanon’s state budget deficit reached in 2018 8.5% of the GDP.

At Cedre conference held recently in Paris, the Lebanese government vowed to adopt a reform financial policy to reduce the deficit by 5% over a period of 5 years (1% per year).

4% of the 5 can be reduced by ending waste at Electricite Du Liban, which costs the state every year $2 billion.
