Minister of Energy Boustani: We now have a law that enables us to implement electricity plan

Minister of Energy Nada Boustani said on Wednesday that the country has “as of today a law enabling it to implement the electricity plan, and this law has been approved by the works and energy committee."

 

Boustani’s comments were made after the Parliament’s session whereby she thanked the leaders for the positivity they expressed in this regard.

 

“The required recommendations will be taken into consideration,” she added.

 

Earlier in the day, the Parliament approved Article 1 of the electricity plan that presents necessary amendments to implement the plan.

 

This as MPs rejected a proposal submitted by Lebanese Forces MP Georges Adwan to appoint a regulatory body in a maximum period of six months.
