Lebanese movie Farah is among the most trending on Netflix in Lebanon

The award-winning Lebanese thriller "Farah" is becoming a worldwide sensation, trending at number three in Lebanon on the movie-streaming platform Netflix.

Starring Stephanie Atala, Magdi Machmouchi, and Hassiba Freiha, the psychological thriller highlights Lebanon's mental health issues and family dynamics. 

The plot revolves around a pre-med student, Lina, who starts to experience recurring nightmares, causing her to return home to Lebanon, where she discovers a web of hidden family secrets. 

Since its premiere at the Beirut International Women's Film Festival, "Farah" has shined in international film festivals.

Directed by Kenton Oxley and Hassiba Freiha, the movie was selected for the New York-based Chelsea Film Festival, where it won its Special 10th Anniversary Award for Best Feature Film. 

 

Additionally, the film received two awards at the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, in Egypt, including the Best Arabic Film and the Best Art Direction categories, among others.
