Girl dies on Christmas morning after her last wish comes true

After her last wish had come true, a young girl with terminal cancer passed away on Christmas morning after her condition gained national attention.

Delaney 'Laney' Brown from West Reading, Pennsylvania received the support of thousands of strangers who gathered at her front lawn to sing Christmas carols on Saturday night.

Laney had checked several dreams off her bucket list including speaking with singer Taylor Swift, being a baby sitter and petting an alligator, with the help of Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The last update posted on her 'Team Laney' Facebook page came around 5am Wednesday after she passed away read: 'My heart breaks right now. Our little angel on earth earned her pink glittery angel wings in heaven. She took her last breath at home in her bed at 3:10 surrounded by all her family and friends. I miss her so much already.”

Laney received her cancer diagnosis in May but the past week has been the hardest after doctors told the family that her condition has become very difficult, and that there are very little left to be done.

According to posts from the Facebook page, Laney suffered from a rare form of childhood cancer called acute myeloid leukemia with monosomy 7, ‘making her quite rare.”

Statistics show that just 10 children a year are diagnosed with this type of illness in America.

Laney had went through five rounds of radiation and a stem cell transplant.
