Kataeb party warns against military parades in Qousayr, Jahliyeh
The Kataeb Party warned on Monday over the military parade that Hezbollah has previously held in Syria's Qousayr and the paramilitary parade that ex-minister Wiam Wahhab has held in the Chouf town of Jahliyeh.

“On the occasion of Lebanon’s Independence Day, the Kataeb Party believes that the attempts to normalize the possession of light-caliber and heavy-caliber weapons... raise major interrogations about the meaning of full and ultimate sovereignty as mentioned in the Lebanese Constitution,” said the party in a statement after its weekly meeting.

As for the formation of the new government, the party warned that any delay in the formation process would postpone the addressing of “the pressing and vital issues.”

“It would also paralyze legislation in parliament, mainly that related to the drafting of a new electoral law, which would prompt the return to the 1960 law that garners incorrect representation and deforms our democratic system,” it added.
