REPORT: Bassil says FPM will not accept establishment of Syrian refugee camps

Foreign Minister and Free Patriotic Movement leader Gebran Bassil said on Sunday that the FPM will not accept the establishment of Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon.

“We will not accept today what we resisted in 2011,” Bassil stressed.

The minister’s comments were made during a tour on the Western Bekaa region.

“The Syrian refugees have only one way to go, the way that leads them to their country,” he added.

“Yes, we are racist Lebanese people but we are also open to the world, and no one can give us lectures about the humanitarian issues,” he stressed.
