Handover ceremony held at the Health Ministry-[VIDEO]
A handover ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Health Ministry between former minister Hamad Hassan and the newly appointed minister Firas Abiad.
During the ceremony, Hassan noted that the ministry and hospitals have won International and local praise for their fight against the pandemic despite the limited capabilities.
 
For his part, Abiad stressed that the health sector suffers now from multiple problems such as the shortage of medicine and medical equipment, the emigration of healthcare staff and the Coronavirus pandemic amid an economic and living crisis.
 
Abiad noted that the top priority of the ministry will be to provide the needed healthcare for all citizens, which requires developing the performance of public hospitals and primary healthcare centers, supporting the health human resources and build their capacities, working on directing health systems towards preventive and primary healthcare, and ensuring that health inequalities are reduced in order to achieve a comprehensive health coverage.
