Hezbollah chief says there is no ceasefire in Lebanon, denounces 'US-backed Israeli aggression'

Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Naim Qassem, said on Monday that there is no ceasefire in Lebanon, describing the situation instead as an ongoing Israeli and U.S.-backed assault.

Qassem dismissed claims of a "yellow line" or buffer zone in South Lebanon, insisting that no such arrangement exists or will be accepted.

He also criticized the prospect of direct negotiations with Israel, calling them a "free concession without gains." Qassem argued that such talks would serve Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by allowing him to project an image of victory despite continued military operations.

The Hezbollah leader further claimed that negotiations would benefit Donald Trump politically ahead of the upcoming elections, while the conflict on the ground persists.
