Wild animals attack sheep, goats in Akkar
The state-run National News Agency reported on Sunday that wild animals, most likely wolves, attacked a farm Saturday-Sunday overnight in the northern region of Akkar.

The wild animals devoured six goats and sheep in the attack that took place at around 1:30 a.m.

The livestock, owned by Hasan Merhebi, is located in the vicinity of the Akkar town of Oyoun al-Ghezlan.

Merhebi's loss is estimated at more than LL10 million.

The town’s mayor, Khaled Merhebi, urged  Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb to compensate the farmer, “who lost more than half his capital.”

He also stressed the need for finding necessary measures to protect against wolves and prevent similar attacks in the future.
