Ghosn to LBCI: Is it shameful that economic bodies and GLC reached an agreement?

The Head of the General Labor Confederation Ghassan Ghosn told Nharkom Said TV show that after 5 months of waiting for a wage settlement, wages are eroding and promises of the wage hike are frittering away.

Ghosn said that some are making “demagogic promises” that cannot be implemented. “The agreement reached with employers remained within the limits of what can be implemented”, Ghosn added.

Ghosn stressed that Labor Minister Charbel Nahhas is not granting them more than what they are already asking for.

“Is it shameful that the economic bodies and the GLC came to an agreement…Why does the Labor Minister want to rob workers from a 25% wage increase that will make up for the high cost of living?”, Ghosn wondered.

Ghosn refused to respond to the accusations made against him insinuating that he is standing in the way of the workers’ rights.
