Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Waleed Bukhari, stressed that Saudi Arabia remains keen on Lebanon's stability and the safety of the Lebanese, in remarks made following his meeting with Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, at Dar-al-Fatwa on Wednesday.
He added that the Saudis are now hopeful about Lebanon's growth and prosperity after the formation of the Lebanese government led by Prime Minister Saad Hariri, stating that the lift of the travel ban Saudi Arabia had imposed on its citizens shall yield positive income on the economy and tourism in Lebanon.
He indicated that preparations are underway for an international Islamic-Christian summit in Lebanon organized by the Muslim World League, under the auspices of President Michel Aoun, to emphasize Lebanon’s role in promoting coexistence and dialogue between the religions and cultures.
For his part, the mufti stressed the importance of the kingdom’s role in supporting Lebanon in order to strengthen its legitimate institutions.
