Prime Minister Saad Hariri stressed his complete support for the judicial authority to execute the tasks entrusted to it, in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and laws.
During his meeting with head of the Higher Judicial Council Judge Suhail Abboud, chief of the Court of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Oueidat and state prosecutor and Judge Fadi Elias, Hariri said that “he hopes that the new appointments within the judiciary will lead the authority towards better times, which will help in achieving a successful transition in the judicial work,” voicing his complete support and the cabinet’s readiness to cooperate on all levels in order to boost the judiciary’s independence and to restore the citizens’ trust.
The PM expressed understanding toward the concerns of the judges, voicing the government’s willingness to discuss and help reducing these concerns, while taking into consideration the situation in the country.
