Al Biri manhunt to snare kidnapper ends in bloody shootout

Two assailants were killed and two members of the Internal Security Forces’ Information Branch were wounded during a chase at dawn on Tuesday, in the town of al Biri in the district of Rashaya.

Information made available to LBC showed that one of the two killed was being tracked by the ISF over the abduction of seven Estonian cyclists in March.

Information Branch members operating in Kafardines and al-Rafid, also in the Rashaya district, had very recently arrested two individuals. Their links to the al Biri shootout are unknown.
