Hezbollah chief Nasrallah: Syria is an economic need for Lebanon

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that “Syria is an economic need for Lebanon,” adding that Lebanon alone cannot deal with the smuggling issue without the coordination with Damascus.

Nasrallah’s comments were made during a televised speech in which he noted that Hezbollah would not withdraw from Syria as a result of Israeli strikes.

“Whoever thinks that the situation in Syria will change and the Syrian regime would fall is delusional,” he added.

As for the Coronavirus, Nasrallah called on the Lebanese people to abide by the restrictions imposed by the government in order “not to waste all the efforts that were deployed to curb the spread of the virus.”
