LBCI broadcasts a letter from the Lebanese detained in Syria’s Aazaz, contacts Zoughaib

Lebanese citizen Ali Zoughaib, detained with 8 other pilgrims in Syria’s Aazaz by the Syrian rebels, appeared in a video that was broadcasted Friday night on LBCI.

Zoughaib read a letter in which he assures that he and his companions are safe and sound, calling on relatives to exercise restraint.

The letter added that according to Syrian rebels, “the Lebanese state has established ‘secret detention camps’ after the beginning of the Syrian revolution, where Syrian and Arab activists are detained and are treated in the same manner the Syrian regime its prisoners.”

Zoughain also stated: “We learned that our file was postponed due to the incidents Syria has recently witnessed.” He also stressed that no one can deliver any statement concerning the case of the Lebanese detained in Syria and that he informed “Abou Brahim” that he wishes to be represented solely by MP Okab Sakr.

LBCI then contacted Zoughaib via phone. During the phone call, Zoughaib said that the shelling on Aazaz has a negative influence on the Lebanese detained there.

“We are against any sort of injustice and therefore we support the Syrian rebels who are fighting for freedom,” Zoughaib stated.

He also described “Abou Brahim” as an honorable man, stressing that all the detainees are receiving their medications even when Aazaz is being shelled.
