REPORT: Roumieh Islamists protest against transfer of a prisoner who owes them $10,000

Sources told LBCI on Friday that the First Lieutenant in the Free Syrian Army Mohammad Abdo El Haj, who is imprisoned on charges of selling arms, informed security forces that the Fatah el-Islam inmate, Salim Saleh, aka Abou Tourab is walking around in the Roumieh prison with a pistol on his waist while a Libyan inmate is manufacturing explosives inside the prison.

This as, 60 Islamist inmates detained in block B of the Roumieh Prison headed to the grand floor on Thursday evening to protest against the transfer of prisoner Mohammad Abdo El Hajj, from the detainees department to the convicts department; threatening to cause riots and chaos to exert pressure on the prison administration should the decision go forward.

According to the inmates, El Hajj owes them $10,000.

When their movement failed, they went back to their cells and promised to implement another movement in the upcoming hours. On the other hand; al-Hajj has asked the prison administration to transfer him from the Bloc B, noting that the Islamists have been threatening to kill him.

The transfer process took place without any disturbance, while the administration promised to pressure al-Hajj to return all the amounts stipulated, according to sources from the prison.

However, governmental sources told LBCI that they will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt security inside the Roumieh prison's Bloc B.
