Judge Fransen to set date for trial in the case of Ayyash et.al

STL Pre-Trial Judge Daniel fransen issued a decision on the 21st of February whereby he deferred the beginning of trial in the case of Ayyash and others, noting that the Prosecution submitted proposals pertaining to trial preparations, upon the order of Judge Fransen.

In this regard, the Prosecution confirmed its inability to propose a date for the beginning of the trial, adding that it may suggest an initial date within the last quarter of this year.

It is worth noting that the Defense stressed that it would be premature to suggest a date for the start of the trial since a number of unsettled cases are yet to be addressed.

On another note, the legal representative of the victims also shared the same standpoint but suggested the last quarter of 2013 as a starting date.

Judge Fransen could soon fix a preliminary date for the start of trial, other than March 25.
