REPORT: Syrian economists propose the use of Turkish lira in rebel-controlled areas

Syrian activists and economists proposed the use of the Turkish lira as the main currency in rebel-controlled areas.

The Association of Syrian Economists in Aleppo stated that this initiative aims at putting economic pressure on President Bashar Assad’s regime in a bid to speed up its downfall.
