REPORT: Meeting held between tourism minister and owners of maritime tourism institutions
Tourism Minister Michel Faraon stressed that any violations in the public institutions will not be acceptable, noting that there are at least 25000 job opportunities in the maritime tourism sector.

During a meeting held between the minister and a delegation from the Tourism Institutions' Union, the union’s Secretary General Jean Beirouti said that the taxes imposed on the maritime tourism institutions will lead to their closure, hoping that this decision will be reconsidered.

In this regard, Beirouti called on the authorities to deal with the unlicensed institutions, pointing out that they constitute 18% of the Lebanese coastline.

Accordingly, Beirouti placed his resignation in the hands of the minister of tourism, since he is no monger capable of following up on the issue of the maritime tourism institutions.
