The Food and Agriculture Organization has warned on Friday of a worldwide worsening of food crises because of the war in Ukraine, which leads to an increase in the global food import bill due to the increase in the prices of grains and fertilizers.
This as the FAO’s report on "Food Outlook" which was published on Thursday, stated that "the global food import bill is expected to rise by $51 billion compared to 2021, to $1.8 trillion, of which $49 billion will be due to higher prices."
