Motor racing-Schumacher 'showing small signs of progress' - spokeswoman
Michael Schumacher is 'showing small signs of progress' as he continues to gradually recover from devastating brain injuries resulting from a ski accident, his spokeswoman Sabine Kehm said on Sunday.

The driver's manager, speaking on live television, revealed details of the F1 legend's recovery and how his 'little bit of progress makes us very happy'.

"There are short moments of consciousness and Schumacher is showing little signs of progress," Miss Kehm said.

"Of course I am not a doctor, but medically, there is a difference between being awake and being conscious, the latter meaning there is an ability to interact with his surroundings," she added.

Doctors put Schumacher into a medically induced coma after the driver hit his head on a rock while skiing at the French resort of Meribel on December 29.

Miss Kehm also stressed that Schumacher will be brought out of the coma but did not mention how long it would take.
