Qatar and Turkey Condemn "Double Standards" in Israeli-Hamas Conflict

The foreign ministers of Qatar and Turkey criticized the international community on Wednesday for "double standards" in its response to the escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a press conference with his Turkish counterpart.

"We emphasize our complete rejection of dealing with this crisis with double standards in the spirit of humanity," he said.

Al Thani, who also serves as the Prime Minister of Qatar, added that "it is not permissible to condemn the killing of civilians here (in Israel) and justify it there (in Gaza)."

In response to an unprecedented attack carried out by Hamas fighters inside Israeli territory on October 7, Israel launched a military campaign against Gaza.
