Brief air alert in Kyiv during Russian unilateral ceasefire: AFP

Air raid sirens briefly rang out over Kyiv on Friday, AFP journalists reported, with a two-day unilateral ceasefire that Moscow had declared around its World War II commemorations appearing to be in tatters.

AFP reporters in Kyiv heard sirens echoing over the Ukrainian capital due to the threat of a ballistic missile attack, according to the air force, before the threat was lifted nine minutes later.
