REPORT: LBCI team enters the al-Bweida al-Sharqiya village on the outskirts of Qusayr

The LBCI team entered on Saturday to the al-Bweida al-Sharqiya village located in the northern outskirts of Qusayr after opposition fighters withdrew from it in the past few hours.

In this regard, the team entered to a field hospital in the village, showing medical units where it appears to have been the location where rebels treated their casualties on-site before transporting them out of the village.

The al-Bweida village, which had witnessed fierce clashes, appears destroyed, and empty.

On Friday, the LBCI team successfully entered to the Syrian city of al-Qusayr after Syrian regime forces had established full control of the strategic town on Wednesday.

Officials in al-Qusayr told LBCI that workers will clear the rubble "as soon as possible" in order to allow the return of residents.

The fall of al-Qusayr after a two-week offensive by Hezbollah fighters and Syrian president Bachar Assad's troops, backed by warplanes, was a significant victory for the regime as it continues to battle an uprising-turned-insurgency in which more than 80,000 people have so far been been killed since March, 2011.
