Shelling in Sudan kills one peacekeeper, injures two

A UN spokesman reported that shells hit a United Nations base in Sudan's southern state of Kordofan on Friday, killing one peacekeeper and wounding two others.

UN peacekeeping spokesman Kieran Dwyer told AFP that two shells hit the UN peacekeeping soldier logistics base in Kadugli, in Sudan's South Kordofan state, adding that one peacekeeper was killed and two more injured.

“We condemned in the strongest terms this shelling,” he said.
