The Truth About Yulin And The Illusion of Human Superiority
Over the last few days, the world witnessed an international condemnation of the annual dog meat festival in Yulin - China.

The event is Yulin's summer solstice festival taking place this coming weekend in the city streets where more than 10,000 dogs and cats will be brutally slaughtered and consumed with a fairly large amount of wine.

The idea of skinning and cooking dogs and cats is simply appalling. There are no words in the known vocabulary to describe how i personally feel about this coming massacre. Yet, it is only normal that festivals like these happen. We have been preparing for them since we (the humans species) landed on earth and here's why.

The Illusion Of Human Superiority:

Humans undoubtedly consider themselves as superior to every other living organism on this earth (they are certainly not!)
Sadly, religion took an essential part in programming us to become so ruthless. Its influence on must of us, religious or A-religious, is now being passed on through cellular memory and even subconscious programs. I will refrain from diving into the details in this article, since i believe this subject requires more than a one pager.

Our self entitlement is reflecting on our surroundings and habitat. It suffices to take a swift look at what we have caused so far. We've eaten chunks out of mother earth, destroyed our habitat and exploited its resources. And we are the only species on earth that caused this much destruction and inflicted this much pain. We've been harboring this superiority complex since the dawn of civilization and now reaping the consequences.

The connotation of the word "Animal":

Each word has two definitions: the Denotative and the Connotative.

Denotation refers to the literal meaning of a word or its dictionary meaning. Connotation on the other hand, is the meaning each individual conjures up in their mind upon hearing a certain word.

Connotation is the child of indoctrination! Every person is brought into this world as his parent’s little science project. They both try their best to indoctrinate him into certain values that will forever have his brains in a jar.

Needless to say that the words "Animal and dog" are used first and foremost as insults, which says a lot about how we regard other species in my humble opinion.
Last but not least, I don't really see how #stopYulin2015 will save the 10.000 dogs and cats this weekend, since China blocks both Twitter and Facebook.
Besides, at least they do it once a year while the rest of the world slaughters thousands of animals for consumption on a daily basic. Doesn't that make us hypocrites? Just sayin...
