Public Health Minister Ghassan Hasbani stressed Friday that the ministry has been working in cooperation with various partners to establish 8 mental health community centers, and to cover the cost of hospitalization of patients at psychiatric hospitals.
In a speech he delivered during a ceremony held to launch the National Campaign for Mental Health 2017 on the occasion “World Health Day,” the minister said that the Health Ministry will start covering mental health treatment expenses as part of a new project of the “comprehensive health coverage,” with the support of the World Bank.
Hasbani explained that his ministry has been working on placing a new system based on the community services that allow the people to receive the appropriate service at the closest place to their place of residence.
