Speaker Nabih Berri received Saturday an African delegation and members from the African Continental Council headed by Atef Yassin, in the presence of Amal movement deputy president Haytham Jomaa.
Speaking from Ain al-Tineh, Yassin said that “the visit aims at confirming their support and solidarity with Berri, who is the supporter for all expatriates around the world, and particularly Africa.”
“We denounce any offense against you and we reiterate our support for your efforts to protect the country and maintain its stability,” he added.
Berri also received with his wife Randa, a delegation of women, who also expressed solidarity with the speaker.
He also met with the vice-president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent in Asia, heading a delegation from the federation, as well as President of the Lebanese Red cross Antoine al-Zoghbi, Secretary General George al-Kettany and Head of Medical and Social Services Department Amina Berri Fawaz.
MP Ghazi al-Aridi also met with Berri and discussed with him the general situation.
