Lebanese Forces party chief Samir Geagea urged Saturday President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to give orders to the Lebanese Armed Forces to intervene in Miyeh w Miyeh refugee camp and put an end to the clashes that have been ongoing over the past few days.
In a statement, Geagea said “the clashes over the past few days in the Myieh w Miyeh camp continued as if they were taking place on a non-Lebanese land, amidst the huge suffering and fears of the residents of neighboring towns and villages, and the unfortunate absence of security forces to ensure the restoration of peace and tranquility.”
"Therefore, I urge President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to give orders to the Lebanese Army to intervene as soon as possible to stop the clashes and confiscate the weapons in use, so as to prevent any reoccurrence," the statement read.
