MP Fouad Makhzoumi said Sunday that the budget has been focusing on the wrong place instead of focusing on the main cause of the deficit, noting that passing decisions in the parliament without reviewing them, which represents the main issues facing the budget draft law.
In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Makhzoumi stressed that it is illogical to exempt the banks from taxes and fees, while the salaries of employees and military personnel are reduced as a rescue measure, pointing out that there is contradiction in the reports concerning the budget draft law.
The MP also said that he supports reducing the salaries of deputies and ministers, rejecting any reduction to reach the wages of the employees.
