Interior Ministry denies detention of Arab woman at Beirut airport
The Interior and Municipalities Ministry denied allegations that a female Arab national was arrested by unofficial security personnel and detained in an underground jail at Beirut International Airport.

In a statement issued by the ministry, Interior Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq, personally contacted head of the airport security, Brigadier Jean Talouzian, to follow up on the matter reported in the Acharq al-Awsat daily on March 26th 2014.

The Minister had also contacted the writer of the article and consequently asked him to provide him with the full identity details of the allegedly imprisoned Arab woman, so as to follow up on her case.

Consequently, the minister called on the Internal Security forces, General Security and Airport Security to immediately launch investigations into the issue and reveal the clear circumstances.
