[PHOTOS] Lebanese army seizes two stolen cars in Arsal

Security forces seized on Tuesday two stolen cars, a Mercedes Benz and a Range Rover, in the Bekaa region of Arsal.

This comes as the Internal Security Forces General Directorate announced on Monday that it also apprehended a number of stolen vehicles at a Syrian refugee camp at the aforementioned town.

The vehicles were identified as a white Opel, a white Chevrolet pickup truck, both without license plates, a black Kia and a grey Renault carrying the following registration plate numbers 441292/B.

Following the seizure of the vehicles, investigations were launched to determine the identity of the owners and the origin of the stolen vehicles.

Also on Monday evening, the Lebanese Armed Forces units dismantled booby-trapped Honda CRV near an amusement park in the town of Wadi Hmeid in Arsal.

In this regard, sources told LBCI that the army forces were targeted by gunfire while dismantling the said vehicle, leading them to transport it to another place.

Stolen vehicles have been the cause of a many booby trapped explosions taking place in several regions across the country, the most recent having taken place last Saturday when an explosive laden vehicle exploded at an army checkpoint in the northeastern Lebanese border town of Arsal leaving three Lebanese Army soldiers dead and several others wounded.

These attacks are coming as a direct spillover of the Syrian crisis which has now entered its fourth year.
