Former Min. Sayegh to LBCI: Decision to impose visa on Syrians 'comes late'
Kataeb bloc member, former Minister Salim Sayegh, said on Monday that a decision whereby Syrian nationals will be required a visa to enter Lebanon “came late”.

“Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali is not in a position to refuse or accept this sovereign decision that has been taken by the government to stem the influx of Syrian refugees,” Sayegh said in an interview with LBCI’s Nharkom Said TV Show.

“Nearly 50% of the Lebanese are now below the poverty line due to the huge number of displaced Syrians,” he said, adding “the Lebanese state is unable to meet the citizens’ demands”.
