The “People’s Movement” staged a protest on Sunday outside the Interior Ministry, to “reject death" and to call for "a decent life.”
George Azar, the spokesperson for the protesters, noted that their movement "aims at shedding light on the failure of the security and judicial apparatuses in protecting the citizens from various crimes and from people who commit these crimes without being held accountable, starting from the murder of Roula Yaacoub, to the most recent crime, the victim of which was George al-Rif.”
“The general atmosphere in Lebanon is insecure, not to mention the environmental crimes committed against Beirut and other Lebanese regions, concerning the waste crisis,” he explained.
