Wahhab to LBCI: Aoun is not an election salesman, alliance with Hezbollah continuous

Head of the Arab Tawhid Movement Former Minister Wiam Wahhab said on Thursday via Nharkom Said on LBCI, that disagreements on some issues in the country have escalated between MP Michel Aoun and Hezbollah.

According to Wahhab, Aoun is rightful in his demands from his allies to interfere and exert pressure on pending issues such as the EDL file. Aoun expects the Resistance bloc to intervene on the issue, seemingly since Hezbollah holds close ties with parties involved in the issue, Wahhab added.

“Aoun is not an election salesman and does not think in terms of winning or loosing, his alliance with Hezbollah is strong and continuous” Wahhab stressed.

“There will be no quartet alliance in the upcoming elections, Berri is looking to bring calm to prevalent tensions,” Wahhab continued .

Commenting on the latest Christian stance in parliament, Wahhab said that it was a positive move on the part of those parties, and will continue to yield favorable results should it continue. He called on other hand for the standstill of negative discourse between Aoun and PSP leader MP Walid Jumblat.

Regarding Bilal bin Rabbah Mosque Sheikh, Ahmad Assir’s sit-in, Wahhab said that the latter is instigating people towards problems, and is creating a deep division among Sidonians.

“Former PM Rafik Hariri was keen on siding the Sunni’s with moderation, as for Saad his son; he is taking the Sunni’s on the path to extremism in an attempt to balance out Shiite power.” Wahhad said.

On the issue of detained military men arrested for the death of slain Sheikh Abdel Wahhed, Wahhab asked: “isn’t it a shame that those men remain in custody?” The Minsiter of Justice Shakid Qortbawi should intervene, he added.

On Syria, Wahhab said that Lebanon is committing a grave mistake by not following and stopping fighters coming into Lebanon and entering Syria at own will. “There are training camps in North Lebanon that are harboring terrorists” he added. In his concluding remarks Wahhab described the Cairo summit as “mental”.
